Honey, Greek Yogurt, and Raspberry…Oh My!

Honey is one of those beautiful foods that is literally quite a miracle – but it’s not a miracle, it’s a result of a divine Creator who intricately makes all things work together in an every-so-finely-woven ecosystem and animal kingdom.

Many take honey for granted. I mean, it’s just there, and always has been, ever since we can remember. Right?

When you look into how honey is made, it’s mind-blowing. Like I’ve stated before, Jesus Christ blows my mind, one thing at a time, but also everything around me at once, in this never-ending burst of beauty and awe. This dynamic flowing of new excitement in viewing and enjoying His glory through His creation. It’s an intense wonder all around me. Being in love with the Creator of all things is a moment-by-moment rush of full warm exciting passionate love within me, as he penetrates my inner being into the deepest corners.

Yes, I’m still talking about honey. His creation, as small and seemingly insignificant as honey, literally pushes me deeper into His love, His intimacy, and His fellowship. I love Him and loving Him magnifies everything around me, from sunsets to honey to peacocks to leaves to stars to the human heart to everything else.

When God consumes your mind, when you become obsessed with Him, when you actually fall into a deep love affair with Him, He starts to ignite in you a fire and colour and vibrancy you never knew existed. Before God, everything was just random. Nothing had meaning, purpose, or beauty because before He entered my heart, I didn’t know God and was under the impression that everything just exploded into place. Randomly and without purpose, everything exploded into all this existence we human beings call life. All the unending beauty and craftsmanship we see around us I didn’t think was divinely designed, but formed through nothing and with no meaning. So I never really appreciated anything. Now that I know God, everything is lit up because I realize he purposefully and lovingly created everything like the beautiful artist that He is. It’s wonderful!

Here’s a little excerpt I took from honey.com just to reiterate the miracle in how honey is produced.

Honey gets its start as flower nectar, which is collected by bees, naturally broken down into simple sugars and stored in honeycombs. The unique design of the honeycomb, coupled with constant fanning by the bees’ wings, causes evaporation to take place, creating the thick, sweet liquid we know as honey.

It’s glorious, because it was designed by a glorious Creator.

Here’s a little delicious snack I made one morning.

Fresh raspberries, full-fat greek yogurt, and of course…raw honey! Yumminess in a bowl.
