Jesus Rescued Me

Do you ever think of God as a r e s c u e r?

We are saturated with love stories of the Knight in Shining Armour rescuing his bride from torture and death, then the two run off to live happily ever after in a paradise world.

But where did this idea come from?

Certainly, no real human love on earth even remotely resembles the perfect love found in fairy tales.

But the idea of perfect love, of a sacrificial rescuer who loves so passionately that he is willing to die for his bride…that h a d to have come from somewhere.

Why do we have such a high ideal and desire for perfect love when it has never been found between two imperfect humans?

Because this perfect, saving, transforming, unconditional love has been written on our hearts.

Because it’s alive.
It’s real.
And it’s why we exist.

This love is so real, and we’re made to crave it. It’s what leads us to our Creator. We know deep down even in the midst of imperfect love, that there IS perfect love out there, somewhere. There has to be. That’s because the One who d e f i n e s perfect love is the one who m a d e our hearts and that’s why we yearn for it so deeply. Whether we admit it or not.

We yearn and crave and ache and desire for this love all of our lives until that love rescues us from this hopeless reality. Because that perfect love is our only hope.

Jesus is the only answer to our ravished craving for wholeness and love that we all possess deep within our heart.

It’s our purpose as human beings to be filled with His love. To be saved by His love. And if this perfect love in Jesus isn’t found in a person’s lifetime, then they will die spiritually dead in their sins and miss out on the only true, perfect, love that ever existed.

And rejecting this perfect love will result in the greatest heartache that one will e v e r experience.

Let Him rescue you.

‭‭{Romans‬ ‭8:38-39‬}
For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Oh, how He loves His bride!
