When God Says No

Never forget that. Hold tight to that truth. When God says no, know that He has your best interest at heart. He is a good Father. The best Father. He promises to work a l l things – not some things, a l l things – out for the good of those who love God and are called according to His purposes {Romans 8:28}. That applies even when His answer is “no”.

His “no” is full of love, full of goodness, full of wisdom, full of care for us, full of protection, full of providence, full of grace, and full of mercy for His children.

He wants you to trust Him and His will for your life, even when we don’t get what we think we want.

I recently received a “no” from God and it made my heart ache for a moment, because this is something I wanted and prayed about for a year. But recently He answered my prayer with a very real sign, and it was a “no”. It made my heart ache and it was very difficult, but I trusted Him through it, being obedient to Him and letting this thing go.

That’s what He desires from us. Obedience not only when it’s easy and we have understanding, but obedience when it’s difficult and we don’t fully understand.

I know that sometimes receiving a “no” from God can hurt, but it’s imperative that we push through our fleshly pain and be obedient to the all-knowing, all-wise God who cares for us more deeply than we could ever imagine.

Even His “no” is full of goodness. Trust Jesus and His plans for your life, even when you don’t understand it. Love Him and praise Him during the “no” seasons of our lives, and follow Him closely through it all.💗

Do What God Has Called You To Do

You were created by God with purpose and if you belong to Jesus, you are a vessel of His glory. You are the object of His love. The apple of His eye. And amazingly, you get to walk on this earth that He made and serve Him and His kingdom. Your calling is specific and unique.

His kingdom is invisible and spiritual, but more powerful than anything on this earth and you get to be a part of that. Keep your heart on Jesus and love Him. Put Him first and surrender daily to Him. Burn off the flesh and sin and be purified through His sanctification. Use the gifts and talents He gave you. Use  e v e r y t h i n g  for His glory and His purposes.

Follow His calling for your life, because people are depending on you and they don’t even know it. They’re lost and need God’s love. You have the Way, the Truth, and the Life.

Know His calling by being filled with the Spirit, abiding in Him daily, reading His word, putting Him above everything else, and talking to Him. About e v e r y t h i n g.

You are blessed to be used of God. Spend your life loving and serving Him, because when it comes right down to it, nothing–nothing–nothing else matters.♥️

If It Does Not Glorify Christ…

Brothers and sisters,
If we are behaving in ways, thinking certain thoughts, or entertaining things in our minds that are not glorifying or pleasing to Christ, we must run away from it. We must do everything we can to burn it off of us as silver is being purified in fire.

Remember, we’ve been bought by the blood of God Himself. We were bought with a very high price. Immeasurably and invaluably high. As His saints, we’re called out of this world and to live a life that brings God glory.

Sin, carnality, and worldliness in our lives does not bring God glory nor is pleasing to Him. It is not something we should take lightly. For satan does not own us any longer, we are owned by the Most Holy God. We are His slaves – willing slaves who desire to do whatever He wants. And we will desire it, if in fact we do love Him.

Jesus said, “if you love me, you’ll obey my commandments.” {John 14:15}

If we truly love Him, we will desire to flee from anything that is not pleasing to the One who saved us from hell.

Is there anything that God is pressing on your heart to remove?💎

Halloween

Brothers and sisters in Christ,

If you’re Holy Spirit-filled, it means you have been bought at a very high price. The price of the blood of God Himself, to pay for all of your wickedness and darkness. He took your sins upon Himself and suffered, and in exchange He gave us His righteousness and freed us from death and shame. We are called to live Holy lives. It isn’t a request, it’s our identity. We are light to this dark world and we’re not to partake in anything that is unholy or wicked. We are to love what God loves, and hate what God hates.

God hates Halloween. It is dark, evil, disgusting, wicked, demonic, and sinful. Christians have absolutely no place to partake in Halloween in any way, shape, or form. It isn’t fun and games, and it isn’t innocent. Real human sacrifices take place on this night. Real suffering, real torture, real demonic activity.

As His saints, we’re called to stand out. We’re not called to look like everyone else or live like everyone else. We’re a peculiar people. Please, stay away from Halloween and keep your children from it. Instead, stay in and pray and read the Bible.

If you insist on partaking in Halloween, ask yourself – why? Why are you attaching yourself to something God hates? Do you love God more than partaking in a wicked thing? That’s the test of the heart. Do you love God more? Test yourself to see if you’re in the faith.

Delight yourself in being different, living Holy, and keeping away from the dark things of this world. I take delight in it! It brings me joy. I’m not trying to put a burden on you – but if you love Him, it’s not a burden. I love Him more than anything, and as someone who has experienced His salvation, I would give up anything and everything for Him. Jesus said if you love your own family more than Him, you are not worthy of Him. How much more unworthy if you love a dark holiday more than Him?

{Isaiah 5:20}
“Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil; Who substitute darkness for light and light for darkness; Who substitute bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter!”

{1 Peter 1:16}
It is written, “YOU SHALL BE HOLY, FOR I AM HOLY.”

{1 Thessalonians 5:22}
“Abstain from every form of evil.”

{Matthew 5:16}
“In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.”

{1 Peter 2:9}
“But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.”

He Calls Us Beautiful

It’s interesting that even as believers, we try to present ourselves a certain way to the world. We try to look as good as we can, putting makeup on, decorating ourselves with jewelry, getting our hair coloured, and the list goes on. What’s interesting is that we do this for people, yet the Creator of the the Heavens and Earth thinks we’re beautiful just in our natural skin. He made us and called it good.

Let’s get out there and be comfortable in our own skin! The skin that God gave us. The skin the King Himself says is beautiful. Why cover up and change what God says is good? He made our skin colour, eyes, our lips, and our hair a certain way, colour and texture. And it all testifies to His glory!

Let’s go against the rhythm of this world and let our true selves shine.

It’s so hard getting to this place of being comfortable in our own skin. For many girls, it will take lots of prayer and abiding in God. It will take strongholds being broken by the Holy Spirit. It will take healing. It will take asking God for help to see yourself the way He sees you, and finding your beauty and value and worth in Him.

He won’t disappoint.

You are beautiful. You are fearfully and wonderfully made by the King of Kings and Lord of lords.

Isn’t it amazing that the most beautiful Being in the entire universe thinks YOU are beautiful!?

Just you, nothing else, nothing extra, nothing changed.💎

{Psalm 45:10-11}
Listen, O royal daughter, take heart to what I say.
Forget your people and your family far away.
For your royal husband delights in Your beauty;
Honour Him, for He is your Lord.

Walking Closely With Jesus

FullSizeRender-2 copy.jpg

When we are weak, weary, and feel like giving up, we can be rest assured, that for the people that He has redeemed, He will stand with us and strengthen us.

He will walk with us.  E v e r y  step of the way. Through every season, every challenge, every new day.

Walking closely with Jesus can be hard. We at times face opposition in both the tangible, physical world, and the invisible, spiritual world. But even during the hardest of seasons – those seasons where we are in so much despair and are tempted to give up…

We can’t give up. We  s i m p l y  can’t.

Because He who is much stronger than us is holding us tightly to Himself. He is the One who strengthens us.

Because even during tumultuous seasons, we have Life within ourselves. We are spiritually alive, even during times of despair. We might stumble around for a season like a baby trying to walk, but we will…

A l w a y s

A l w a y s

A l w a y s  come back.

I remember a time I was worn out and weary because of the spiritual warfare I was experiencing. I felt weak and I needed His strength. I had recently done something radical for Him in my life and the spiritual opposition I faced was almost unbearable at the time.

I felt disconnected from Him during this time of testing. He felt so distant. I felt lost during this season and the winds that blew on me were rigid and harsh.

In my moment of weakness and need of attention from Him, I thought, “what’s the point? I’ll just do things I used to enjoy before I was saved. I’ll just go out and get drinks with friends like I used to.”

No, I had not an ounce of desire for that.

So that didn’t work. My next thought came, “I’ll just spend all my time watching movies and binging on tv shows to ease the pain.”

Nope, I had absolutely no desire for it. I couldn’t even force myself to sit down and watch tv. They don’t call it ‘programming’ by accident.

So that didn’t work. I then said, ‘okay, I’ll go listen to all that secular music I used to listen to’ (instead of worship music).

No – I turned on the radio and heard some song playing for about 15 seconds, I cringed, then immediately turned it off. Just hearing sexual or worthless lyrics grieved my heart.

So that didn’t work. Next thought, ‘I’ll go on a date with that guy who I know doesn’t love You or believe in You, since I’m not getting attention from You…”
N e v e r. N e v e r. Never in a million years would I even consider a man who is not passionately in love with Jesus.

So that definitely didn’t work. I was so desperate for God’s closeness and to be relieved of the testing I was going through that I was willing to say anything to stir Him.

But He knows me. He knew my heart and that I sincerely didn’t mean  a n y  of it.

That’s because…

He  r e m o v e d  those worldly desires.
I couldn’t bring myself to do those things which I know grieves His Spirit. I love Him so much that I just can’t. The desire for any kind of carnality has been removed from me and He’s still removing it as I walk deeply with my God.

In the very next moment after saying these foolish things, I turned and ran to Him, heart overcome with longing for Him. I cried to Him, read scripture, listened to a biblical teaching, and praised Him, telling Him how much I love and need and adore Him. It’s all I could do. It’s all I  w a n t e d  to do.
Why?

Because I have eternal  L I F E  within myself. When you have eternal life inside of you, you crave deeply the eternal things of God. Because, no matter how hard it gets…

HE is all I want.

No matter what season I happen to be in –  highs and lows, victories and failures. Even when I’m weak and stumbling and falling like a child. Child I may be, but I’m His child nonetheless.

God lives in me, and my desire for the things that have nothing to do with Jesus do not interest me anymore. Even at my darkest hour, I can’t get far away from my King, the One whom my soul loves. Nor do I ever want to.

With my nature changed by His Spirit, I now have a natural inclination and desire for the things of God. And a natural distaste for the things that do not please God or hold no eternal value.
Eternal life craves the things of eternal life. The spiritually dead crave the things that are spiritually dead.
This is a good way to examine yourself. What does your heart crave m o s t?

{Song of Solomon 3:1-4}
On my bed night after night,
I sought the One whom my soul loves;
I sought Him but did but did not find Him.
I said, ‘so I must arise now and go out into the city;
Into the streets and into the squares.
I must seek Him whom my soul loves.
I sought Him but I did not find Him.
The watchmen who go around the city found me,
And I said, ‘have you seen Him whom my soul loves?’
Scarcely had I passed them,
When I found Him whom my soul loves.
I held on to Him and would not let Him go.

I Become less, He Becomes More

16997692_1051778531595602_3651530853795798438_n

When we are in Jesus, His strength is perfected in our weakness.

We become less. He becomes more.

I remember weeks following the special moment that I gave my life to Jesus Christ, there was this strange new feeling within me.

I was dying to self.

I was becoming less, and He was becoming more. It was very new and unfamiliar to me, because I had spent all of my entire life trying to be m o r e of me. In perfect unity, He was spiritually circumsicing me and giving me a new heart. From a hard heart to a tender heart.

In this, the sinful calloused, fleshly nature in me was being removed by the hand of God. In His refining fire, He was burning away the person previously known as Tanya for the past 29 years.

At first, this new feeling was u n c o m f o r t a b l e.

Because I wasn’t acquainted with being less of me so God could be more in me. I was used to always trying to be m o r e of me. But more of me without God is an ugly thing. Jesus completely reversed this within my new heart:

Selfishness to selflessness, vanity to humbleness, greed to giving, hate to love.

I knew what was happening was good, and I desired it. But in my new baby believer’s mind, dying to self was also just a little bit painful. I could f e e l it. I was a w a r e of it. It was an awareness through my entire being – mind, heart, and soul, that He allowed me to experience. My spiritual outer layer was full of dirt, defilement, and darkness, and it was being removed to reveal my t r u e identity as a daughter of the King.

When I came to Christ, I was transformed into a new creature. I went from dead to alive. Mortal to immortal in Jesus. The old had passed, and the new had come.

With the Holy Spirit freshly in me, I had to learn that more of me is bad, and less of me is so so so good. Because less of me means more of Him. And more of Him means more of His strength and power made perfect in my weaknesses.

It means my weaknesses can be used for His purposes and made into strength by His power.

Though ecstatically full of joy in the Lord, this discomfort I felt at the beginning of my relationship with God was my fleshly carnal nature being cut off of me.

But I’m so glad it did. And I’m so thankful that I’m s t i l l being refined. That I’m
s t i l l dying to self. And that I’ll a l w a y s be sanctified. Because He has become m o r e in me. And more of God is a very wonderful thing.

{Deuteronomy 30:6}
And the LORD your God will circumcise your heart and the heart of your descendants [that is, He will remove the desire to sin from your heart] so that you will love the LORD your God with all your heart and all your soul, so that you may live.”

‭‭{Colossians‬ ‭2:11-14‬}
When you came to Christ, you were “circumcised,” but not by a physical procedure. Christ performed a spiritual circumcision—the cutting away of your sinful nature. For you were buried with Christ when you were baptized. And with him you were raised to new life because you trusted the mighty power of God, who raised Christ from the dead. You were dead because of your sins and because your sinful nature was not yet cut away. Then God made you alive with Christ, for he forgave all our sins. He canceled the record of the charges against us and took it away by nailing it to the cross.

{2 Corinthians 12:9}
Jesus said, “My grace is sufficient for you [My lovingkindness and My mercy are more than enough – always available – regardless of the situation]; for My power is perfect in your weakness.” Therefore, I will all the more gladly boast in my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may completely enfold me and may dwell in me.”

{Ezekiel 36:26-27}
And I (God) will give you a new heart, and I will put a new spirit in you. I will take out your stony, stubborn heart and give you a tender, responsive heart. And I will put my Spirit in you so that you will follow my decrees and be careful to obey my regulations.

{Romans 6:11}
Even so consider yourselves to be dead to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus.

{Luke 9:23}
And He (Jesus) was saying to them all, “If anyone wishes to come after Me, he must deny himself, and take up his cross daily and follow Me.

{Galatians 2:20}
I have been crucified with Christ; and it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself up for me.

{Ephesians 4:22-24}
In reference to your former manner of life, you lay aside the old self, which is being corrupted in accordance with the lusts of deceit, and that you be renewed in the spirit of your mind, and put on the new self, which in the likeness of God has been created in righteousness and holiness of the truth.

{Isaiah 64:8}
Yet, oh LORD, You are our Father;
We are the clay, and You our potter,
And we are all the work of your hand.

Forgiveness

15823246_1000112180095571_4780952596498653805_n.jpg

I used to have the biggest problem with forgiveness. It was so difficult for me to let go of hurts and let go of those people who have hurt me. It’s because I was so broken and I looked to humans to love me perfectly. They won’t. No matter how hard I tried to let go, those pains would always come back to me and it would leave b i t t e r n e s s in my stomach.

It was because I was looking to others to fulfill in me what only God can. The hungry thirst for His perfect love, His perfect wholeness, His perfect  f o r g i v e n e s s.

It wasn’t until the Forgiver Himself forgave me. He forgave me of literally every wrong I’ve done, every bad thing, big and small. All the darkness within. He forgave it all, at a time when I couldn’t even forgive m y s e l f.

Once I tasted His spiritual cleansing and refreshing forgiveness, it freed me. It freed me not only to forgive myself, but to forgive others. He took my weakness and made His power alive in me, giving me the ability to forgive and let go the tight grip I had on hurts and on people.

Some forgiving I had to do happened momentarily at my conversion, when I was filled with His love, and some other forgiveness in my heart occurred through situations and circumstances that have come up in my life that God used to teach me and cling to His love first. I had to “let” Him heal hurts, letting His tenderness and sweetness hold my heart secure. With His work in my heart, He helped me overcome unforgiveness. It was only by His power in my life and His gentleness in my heart. With each new season and each new challenge, He taught me, He grew me, He refined me.

He loved me in ways that are so sacred and holy and divine.

My heart couldn’t resist, and I didn’t have room any longer for g a r b a g e in my soul because He removed it all and flooded me with His light. With His sweet love. And He will continue to do it until I’m ready to see His glorious face.

With His wholeness in me, I no longer look to others to fulfill in my life what they could never possibly fulfill. They aren’t perfect, and will not love me perfectly, and that’s okay. I’m not perfect, but the one who I S perfect forgave all of my imperfections. He has taught me to run to Him with any hurt I face in life.

I was forgiven of a l l my sins against a perfect, holy God, and it has freed me to forgive other people’s sins against an  i m p e r f e c t  me.

If Jesus Christ was abandoned and denied by His closest followers, yet He still forgave them, I can certainly forgive people in my life who have hurt me to such a lesser degree. All of my sins against my righteous just Creator are incomparably more than a few sins against me by others. And He forgave my despicable sins against Him. E v e r y single one of them. So it frees my own soul to forgive.

He frees us to forgive, and with forgiveness, He frees us to truly love others. It’s only by J E S U S. When we experience the true love and forgiveness of God Himself, we’re able to forgive others and release them from our own chains of unforgiveness.

With God comes healing. Of our hearts and our relationships.

If you’re having trouble forgiving and feel any hurt in your heart towards another person, ask God to make you aware of His perfect love for you and His full acceptance of you. You might be in so much hurt and pain. But God’s love is so much g r e a t e r. Run to God and God alone. Jesus’ love breaks the chains of unforgiveness in our hearts. Sometimes immediately, sometimes through persistent prayer and abiding in Him over time.

But HE WILL, because HE IS.

Jesus heals broken hearts.

{Matthew‬ ‭18:21-35}
“Then Peter came to him and asked, “Lord, how often should I forgive someone who sins against me? Seven times?” “No, not seven times,” Jesus replied, “but seventy times seven! “Therefore, the Kingdom of Heaven can be compared to a king who decided to bring his accounts up to date with servants who had borrowed money from him. In the process, one of his debtors was brought in who owed him millions of dollars. He couldn’t pay, so his master ordered that he be sold—along with his wife, his children, and everything he owned—to pay the debt. “But the man fell down before his master and begged him, ‘Please, be patient with me, and I will pay it all.’ Then his master was filled with pity for him, and he released him and forgave his debt. “But when the man left the king, he went to a fellow servant who owed him a few thousand dollars. He grabbed him by the throat and demanded instant payment. “His fellow servant fell down before him and begged for a little more time. ‘Be patient with me, and I will pay it,’ he pleaded. But his creditor wouldn’t wait. He had the man arrested and put in prison until the debt could be paid in full. “When some of the other servants saw this, they were very upset. They went to the king and told him everything that had happened. Then the king called in the man he had forgiven and said, ‘You evil servant! I forgave you that tremendous debt because you pleaded with me. Shouldn’t you have mercy on your fellow servant, just as I had mercy on you?’ Then the angry king sent the man to prison to be tortured until he had paid his entire debt. “That’s what my heavenly Father will do to you if you refuse to forgive your brothers and sisters from your heart.

{Hebrews‬ ‭12:1-3‬}
“Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a huge crowd of witnesses to the life of faith, let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up. And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us. We do this by keeping our eyes on Jesus, the champion who initiates and perfects our faith. Because of the joy awaiting him, he endured the cross, disregarding its shame. Now he is seated in the place of honor beside God’s throne. Think of all the hostility he endured from sinful people; then you won’t become weary and give up.”

{Hebrews‬ ‭4:14-15‬}
“So then, since we have a great High Priest who has entered heaven, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold firmly to what we believe. This High Priest of ours understands our weaknesses, for he faced all of the same testings we do, yet he did not sin.”
